Save & Data

Save & Data controls whether saves sync via iCloud, how often Sakura backs them up automatically, and how many backups it keeps. For the full picture of save folders, linking, and restoring, see Save Management and Global Saves.

SettingiCloud Saves
DefaultOff

Lets games store their saves in iCloud instead of only on this device, so they sync across your iPhone and iPad. This setting is device-specific — it doesn’t sync itself.

Turning it on requires iCloud Drive to be available; if it isn’t, Sakura shows an “iCloud Unavailable” message and the toggle stays off.

Turning it off while any games are still using iCloud storage opens a confirmation with three choices:

  • Migrate Saves to Local — copies those games’ saves down to local folders and switches their configuration, then reports whether the migration fully succeeded
  • Disable Without Migrating — games keep their iCloud link but stop syncing
  • Cancel — leaves the toggle on
SettingAutomatic Save Backups
DefaultOn

Automatically backs up a game’s save folder right before each launch, as long as the folder exists and isn’t empty. This setting syncs across your devices via iCloud.

SettingiCloud Backups
DefaultOff

Decides where backups themselves are stored — separately from whether a game’s saves sync via iCloud. When on, backups are written to your iCloud container instead of local storage. This setting is device-specific and doesn’t sync.

SettingMax Backup Slots
Default2
Range1 – 10

How many automatic backup slots to keep per save folder. Once full, the oldest excess slots are deleted and their slot numbers reused. Syncs across your devices via iCloud.

SettingMax Manual Backups
Default15
Range1 – 50

How many manually-triggered backups to keep per save folder. Oldest manual backups beyond this limit are removed when you make a new one. Syncs across your devices via iCloud.

Three rows at the bottom of this section jump to dedicated screens:

  • Save Manager → the Global Save Manager, an overview of every save folder across your library
  • Save Backups → the Backup Browser, for restoring or deleting backups
  • Storage → the Storage Manager, for a breakdown of disk space used by games, saves, and backups
